#1. Disable Whatsapp read receipts

In the Settings menu, go to Account, then Privacy and turn off Read Receipts.

#2. Hide your profile picture

You can hide your profile pic. simply go to Settings > Privacy > Profile Photo > Nobody.

#3. Get shortcuts to conversations

If you’re on Android you can create shortcuts to popular chats and let them live on your homescreen. Simply Tap and hold on the chat of your choice and a tab will pop up. Select the Add Conversation Shortcut option and the chat in question will appear as the person’s profile photo on your mobile desktop.

#4. Go incognito

It’s in the Privacy menu, under Last Seen, and if you want you can hide from everybody, or only allow your contacts to see your activity.

#5. Send messages with your voice

If you’re busy in your work and replying to messages can be a real tough. But thanks to Google Assistant on Android, you can reply without touching your phone.“OK Google”, say “send a WhatsApp to John” and you can dictate your message.

#6. Back up your chat history

Go to Settings > Chats and calls > Chat backup, which will let you set up an automatic Google Drive backup. The next time you install WhatsApp from fresh on any device, you can simply select the Google Drive backup option.

#7. Keep your messages secret

Go to Settings, then Notifications, and disable Show Preview. Now you can gossip in peace.

#8. Bold Text

You can bold text on WhatsApp by starting it and following it with an asterisk ‘*’.

#9. Lock WhatsApp for Increased Privacy

Head to More options > Settings > Account > Privacy and scroll down to Fingerprint lock. Slide the toggle next to Unlock with fingerprint into the On position.

#10. Change the WhatsApp Background

Follow More options > Settings > Chats > Display > Wallpaper and you'll be able to add your own picture from your library.
